FAQ: Why Do I Write My Personal Situations On The Web

I have several people asking me why do I blog, why do I put my personal situations and pictures on the web. Some say that it’s not good to let the whole world know when I’m suffering or when I’m happy.  Well here is the answer:

For starters I love writing, everybody knows that.  When I was in my teenage years I use to write poetry and I had a diary.  And at times when I’m happy or sad about any situation in particular I tend to write in my Notes App on my Iphone.  So when it was time to move from Puerto Rico, I knew I would have so much time in my hands that I wanted to use it in something.  And that’s when I created this blog.

At the beginning it was short and meaningless (I saw it more as a public diary); but when I started having problems TTC, and I saw I was not alone in this; that there were so many woman out there with my similar situation I focused more on letting my emotions lose.  Through this blog I have met so many woman that I pray for each day and that I know that our “Miracle Baby” (that’s what I call my future baby will be in our arms sooner or later.

So there it is I write to let go of my emotions.

SensatioNail, Sally Hansen & OPI Gel Nail Review

Being busy all the time, between work, hubs, house, fur baby, well it was very hard for me to keep my nail polish looking fresh.  They use to tend to chip the next day due to dishes, and or cleaning.  And lets be real, I'm not going to be paying $25.00 dollars every two weeks to get gel nails because in my opinion $50 dollars a month can be used to pay some of my bills lol.  So, when my dear husband bought me the SensatioNail Invincible Gel Polish Starter Kit (one of my early Christmas gifts) I was beyond excited.

When I tried SensatioNail I was amazed with the gorgeous results.  And for all of you wondering YES it does last 2 weeks (in my case more).  And since I love changing my color I decided to buy different gel polishes from different brands such as OPI and Sally Hansen.  OPI can be purchased through Ebay or Amazon.  And all of them work exactly the same, and its the same process to apply.  I tend to like more OPI not because of the brand but because of the dark colors they have.

Process:
  1. Apply a few drops of the Gel Cleanser to one of the included Lint-free Wipes and wipe each nail.
  2. Paint each nail with the Gel Primer and let air dry.
  3. Apply a thin layer of the Gel Base & Top Coat and “cure” your nails under the LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
  4. Paint on a thin layer of Gel Polish and cure nails under the LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
  5. Repeat step 4.
  6. Seal in color by applying a thin layer of the Gel Base & Top Coat and put your nails under the LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
  7. Repeat step 1 and you’re done!
So, if you ask me I give SensatioNail, Sally Hansen & OPI thumbs up. The starter kit can be purchased at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens you name it.  And if you run out of the Gel Cleanser, and Gel Base & Top Coat you may purchase them as well in these local stores or in the internet.

Treating Absent Period & PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) Naturally

A while back I decided to go natural on medications, treatments and that’s including healthy eating as well.  I had written about what I am using in a past blog Natural Fertility Treatment  and to be honest I have been getting my menstrual period monthly, which is a start because throughout my teenage years and a couple of months before I had started taking natural supplements I was very irregular.  This post is regarding some herbs, and treatments I’ve been doing and it’s also a little bit of information for those ladies out there that may be going through my same situation (infertility).

Having a healthy cycle is a very important step to fertility, and being irregular decreases the possibility of getting pregnant.  An irregular period consists of many different reasons; such as stress, dietary deficiencies, and low body weight, getting off of birth control pills, hormonal imbalance, and PCOS.

Here are some basics in how to treat both Absent Period and PCOS naturally:
Learn how to eat healthy with a whole food fertility diet or even a raw food diet.

Be sure you are getting enough of the following:

Iron – Woman who do not get sufficient amounts of iron may suffer anovulation (lack of oculation) and poor egg health.  You can get iron with organic bison, chicken, eggs, beef, salmon, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, beans, dark leafy greens, seaweed and quinoa.
Vitamin C – Improves hormone level and increases fertility.  You can get a great source of vitamin C by consuming red bell peppers, oranges, strawberries and hibiscus flower tea.  You can also include kale, collard greens, parsley, and basil.
Essential Fatty Acids – Omega 3, Flaxseeds, walnuts, salmon, sardines, halibut, shrimp, snapper, scallops, chia seeds and cod liver oil.
Clean Cholesterol Foods – Grass-fed Beef, raw milk, whole milk yogurt, coconut oil.
Fiber – Fiber helps remove excess hormones from the body and regulate the blood sugar level which helps to reduce fertility issues such as PCOS.  You may consume fresh fruits, vegetables, dark leafy greens and beans.

Herbs to Promote Menstruation
CAUTION:  It is extremely important to rule out pregnancy prior to beginning any herbs for fertility, especially those to bring back a menstrual cycle. Using while pregnant may potentially cause a miscarriage!

Black Cohosh Root – this has been used for years to bring on a menstrual period.
Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) –It works by promoting blood flow to the pelvis where it will stimulate an absent or scanty period.  It also helps building blood for the body.
White Peony (Paeonia officinalis) – Helps build blood and increase circulation to the reproductive organs.
Motherwort – Mildly stimulating to the uterus while calming nerves and stress
Now if you’re like me (I hate drinking different kinds of teas or pills, you can visit the website Natural Fertility Shop and purchase Rejuvaflow.  It contains all of these herbs in just one bottle. And all you would have to do is take 60 drops 3 times a day with a glass of water prior to menstruation. You can also read all of their information; this site has been a blessing in my life.

Herbs to Promote Menstruation & Fertility
These herbs would be used once the first menstrual period comes back:

Vitex – Helps support hormonal balance.  It has been found to help normalize ovulation and support healthy hormone levels and reduce PCOS.  You can take 2 capsules in the mornings the entire month.
Maca – Nourishing food for the endocrine system.  You may take this the entire month.
Royal Jelly – 1 or 2 teaspoons a day.  If you are allergic to bees DO NOT TAKE

Herbs to Help PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)

Cinnamon – You can use 1 tsp. in smoothies
Vitex – Helps support hormonal balance.  It has been found to help normalize ovulation and support healthy hormone levels and reduce PCOS.

PCOS Diet

Balance your daily protein with equal amount of good carbohydrates such as whole grain and sprouted grain.
Make sure the proteins you are eating are complete and organic.
Avoid foods that have high glycemic such as sugar and starch foods (pancakes, syrups, sugar, white potatoes, jams, scones, white bread, pasta).
Eat a diet high in fiber
Eat organic
Quit coffee
Eat 5 meals a day
Exercise 30 minutes 5 days a week

When To See A Doctor

If you have not had a period for 3 consecutive cycles or more, it is time to make an appointment with your OB/GYN.  The majority of the doctors prescribe birth control pills to regulate a cycle.  So this will prevent pregnancy for those trying to conceive.

For more information on natural supplements and natural fertility treatments you can visit the website Natural Fertility Info; in this page you will find a lot more information of what I have provided here.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!!!

A Letter To My Unborn Baby

My sisters and the majority of my family know me well, they know how much I love to write, I had a notebook of poems written by me and I also had a diary where I would write every detail of my life (and oh boy I got in trouble plenty of times) lol.  Anyway, I wrote a while back a letter to my unborn future baby. The day I wrote this I poured my heart out, and as I wrote it tears would come down. But anyway I thought I would share this in my blog. Please excuse my errors if any.  This letter was written in Spanish and I translated it.  It took me a while so that it can come out good.

Dear Baby,

At this point I may say that I’m anxiously waiting for you.  I don’t know if you will be conceived by me or if you will be conceived by someone else.  Sometimes I’m as positive as any believer in Christ, others I’m just angry, disappointed or crying.  What helps me throughout these difficult times is your daddy.  He is the most positive man I have ever met.  And believe me he desired you as much as I do.
We have been trying on our own for over a year and we decided that it is time to take new alternatives since we are in our 30’s.  We don’t want you to think we are your grandparent’s lol.

So, I just want you to know that I love you and I will always love you.  It doesn’t matter if I get to conceive you or if you are conceived by someone else I will love you forever.  And daddy and mommy will try to be the best parents for you.  I pray and I’m literally begging for you my little angle.  And I can’t wait for that day that I can have you in my arms and I can protect you, I can teach you how to give your first steps and of course how to say mommy first.  Then you can say daddy lol.

Just so you know you will be so proud of your daddy, because he is a soldier that protects our country.  I am honored to call him my husband.  And well you will be delighted to have me as your mommy because I am beautiful, intelligent and a hard worker.
Sometimes I picture you having those beautiful freckles that your daddy has, with beautiful red hair and my big eyes.  I have secretly named you because we already have picked out the name you will have if you are a boy or a girl.

I really hope I get to meet you soon, I hope that you become a dream come true, because between you and me, you are always in my thoughts.

Love,

Mommy

Advent Calendar

Las night I was talking to my very special friend Yesenia (Broken2Beyoutiful) about how I felt the need of having Christ completely in my life.  To be honest, there are times where I feel empty and I know He's calling me so that I can give Him my all.  I've been following different bloggers because in a certain way they inspire me.  And today Darci from The Good Life Blog wrote about the Advent Calendar.  Now, if you're like me; I have to admit I did not know what Advent meant, so I started to do my research on my best friend Google lol.  For those of you that do not know what it means here's the definition:

Advent, is a time of preparation for the coming of Christ at Christmas.  It was historically known as “little Lent”, because Lent, is a time of repentance, with prayer, fasting and confession.   Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas (Sunday, December 1, 2013), and is 24 days long.

It can be done by a variety of ways such as Advent Calendars, singing songs, reading a daily devotional about Christmas, etc. It is just basically anything that can celebrate the actual meaning of Christmas which is the birth of Jesus.

Each year I have been expecting Christmas, but for the wrong reasons.  I wanted the party, the dancing, the family reunions, the gifts.  Everything that didn’t have a true significance of the “holiday”.

Anyway, for the first time, I want to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with my husband.  So, I downloaded a daily reading for advent called “Good News of Great Joy” by John Piper.  We will use this Devotional along with praying.  Since like I mentioned I was suppose to begin last Sunday, tonight I will be covering for the days I didn’t do.  And I will be taking the devotional with me during our vacations.

Like I said at the beginning of this post, my heart desires to be closer to Christ.  This does not mean I’m changing the person I am, because I’m not.  But we sure are going to start some modifications in our lives and in our marriage.  My faith has never been strong, I have been dealing with this issue for years now, but I feel this is my time.  And we both want to build a spiritual foundation in our marriage.

So please share with me how you celebrate the Advent!!!

Thanksgiving Recap

I hope you all had a beautiful, peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving Day.  As for me I have to admit that I am proud of myself.  I seasoned our Turkey, and I did Corn Pudding for the first time.  And I'm glad that everybody loved it.  We had a get together at my brother in law's house.  We all gave thanks and we stuffed ourselves.  After dinner the hubs wanted to go to Walmart and we got a couple of stuff for the house.  He also wanted to get the Christmas Spirit started at our place and although we will not be spending Christmas in NC I let him get our first Christmas Tree.  It's simple yet makes our living room look nice and cozy.  So, here's a lil view of what went on.

Letting God Take Over My Life

Yesterday was a horrible day for me; I was all tears for so many reasons.  For starters this is my first thanksgiving away from my family, and what has been breaking me down the most and I've been trying to hide it, is the fact of not being able to conceive.  I at times hold my head up high and I let everyone know I have faith that some day we will become parents, but deep down my heart is broken into so many little pieces.  And yesterday was the breakdown for me.  I had so many things in my head, from family, marriage and baby issues.  And while I was working I kept on saying WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT FROM ME LORD? Funny part I never thought he would answer.  He answered me through so many people I cried even more.  See I’m a very open person, throughout the years I've learned that saying the truth is worth so much more than lying.  So lately I was questioning my faith and God’s existence. I was so angry on how life is.  I questioned the fact that there are so many women that have unwanted babies, kills them, and rapes them; and yet here we desire a family and nothing happens.  How could this be possible?  Why these things happen? Where is God when things like this are happening?  Why us?  These were all my questions, I was angry, I was depressed, and crying, you name it there is no words to describe how I've been feeling.  But like I said; yesterday was the day my Lord answered all my questions.

Below is the sequence of how He answered.  I’m amazed and I have asked for forgiveness so many times because I doubted.  I doubted the Lord, I doubted His promise, and I doubted His existence.

In short words my cousin told me she would carry my baby

Then my friend Marieliz posted this on Instagram

My other friend Michelle posted this on her Facebook
Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.

And to end the night a Pastor I follow on Facebook posted this

Then I had other situations disturbing my head, I was emotionally wrecked and between conversations with my mother and my friend I felt a lot better.  See in just one day I received so many messages from different people and I know for a fact it was God talking to me.  As I’m typing tears just come out because I’m just simply amazed on how wonderful God is.  I can say that I’m still emotionally broken but for the first time after so many years I can say I have accepted Christ not just by words but by heart, I have accepted Him to rule and take over my life.  I have accepted Him to do His will.  Let Him take charge of my life and let me obey what He has for my life.  My Dad always told me to kneel down and pray and I would say “yes yes I will” but then I would forget or simply didn't want too, and for the first time yesterday I got on my knees and prayed.  Like I said in a previous post of mine I don’t know what plans the Lord has for me, but I will patiently wait, pray and have faith that He will provide in His own way.

Happy Wednesday, Happy Long Day Weekend & most important Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sweater Weather: TAG

I saw this TAG and I thought it would be fun to do.  So here it is, a few things of my fall favorites:

Favorite candle scent?
Mahogany Teakwood from Bath and Body Works; I haven’t changed this scent for a while.  For some reason it reminds me of Abercrombie & Fitch, and the smell to me is aphrodisiac lol.

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?
I’m a coffee drinker in the mornings and either tea or hot chocolate at night.

Do you switch up your makeup routine for the season?
Yes!  I use pastel colors for the summer and darker eye shadows and burgundy lipsticks for fall/winter.  I also use more moisturizer on my face to keep it from getting dry during the colder weather.

Favorite Thanksgiving food?
Turkey, “arroz con gandules” (rice and pigeon peas), potato salad, “pasteles” and corn bread.  Oh let’s not forget sweets, some homemade pumpkin pie.

Hats or scarves?
Scarves! My husband has been trying to convince me to buy a hat but for some reason I’m just not into them.

Most worn sweater?
I would have to say my Express sweater it’s cute and confy and warm!

Must have Fall nail polish?
OPI Lincoln Park After Dark this has been my summer, fall, winter you name it color, I love it.

Football games or jumping in a pile of leaves?
I’d honestly have to say none.  But I do support my husband’s team when he watches the games GOOOOO GIANTS

Skinny jeans or leggings?
Skinny Jeans all the way, I think I owe like one pair of leggings.

Boots or Uggs?
Boots, I don’t like uggs they get ugly after a certain amount of use.  And I dislike ugly.

What is your #1 favorite thing about Fall?
I’d have to say the colors.  I love how the trees look all nice and orange, red and yellow it’s just peaceful to my eyes.

Just look at that tree how amazingly beautiful

Do you have a song that gets you in the Fall mood or just a song you're loving at the moment?
I don’t have any song in particular.

What is the Fall weather like where you currently live?
Currently, in Fayetteville it is 49 degrees and it’s raining L

Hope you enjoyed this TAG, and let’s see who does it now lol it would be nice to see what you’re into during the fall!

Early Thanksgiving!

Since I know for a fact that I will be extremely busy the day before Thanksgiving and the same day well, HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING!!! I want to begin by saying that in my humble opinion Thanksgiving Day should be every day.  We should give thanks every day for what we have, for what is yet to come and just because we are breathing, I know I do.  But since this is my first Thanksgiving blogging I want to post what I am grateful for:

My relationship with God ~ I can finally say that I overcame that anger I had.  I mean who am I to get angry at God, He has the answers to every question I have and although some are not answered yet I now know He has a purpose in my life.

My marriage ~ They say the first year is the worst, and indeed it is.  I am not that type of person to say that I’m in the best of marriage, because nobody is. Although I can say this year has brought us closer to each other between tears, sorrow, anger and happiness.  And in God’s name I declare the best years to come.

My family ~ This is my first year celebrating Thanksgiving without my family.  It has been hard and depressing but I have to admit distance has made me appreciate more my father and my mother. Their unconditional love is unexplainable and I will forever be grateful for having these two in my life.  I also have to admit that I’m glad I have a special bond with my sisters, we fight, we curse each other out, but those two are a piece of me.

My job ~ Because finally I’m in an environment that I love doing what I love.

My friends ~ I honestly have to thank Wilmary, Solimar, Desiree and Carla, and although these two are my cousin I have to include them, Cynthia and Joselly; because all of these ladies have seen my cry at my worst, and yet they listen and always had a positive word to encourage me to keep my hopes up.  It’s something I have to give thanks for.  Thank you ladies!!!

My health ~ Becoming a health freak has been a fun journey in the past month.  I've found the best recipes that my husband and I both enjoy.  And going to gym as a couple has been fun (I have to admit we make fun of each other).  I can finally say bye bye to those bitches (pounds) that were killing me lmao (I will post my routine and nutrition plan on another post).  My vacations start next month, and I know it will be a total disaster, I miss my momma’s food plus its Holidays I’ll eat everything they make.  So, once I return I will continue eating healthy and exercising.

Knela ~ Some people may find this weird but I’m grateful to have this little dog/fur baby in my life.  She’s like a baby to me.  And it’s amazing how at times “animals” can be more faithful than a human being.  I mean I can yell at her now (for breaking my garbage bags lol) and 1 minute later she’s following me everywhere I go.  I love her to pieces.  Plus even though she’s a tiny toy poodle she defends me from anyone.  I LOVE HER.

To all my blog ladies and all my readers thank you and enjoy your Thanksgiving Day.
